Walter has over 29 years of successful leadership in innovation, entrepreneurship, and business development. He has proven competence in improving technology and process methodology which has led to publications in both the United States and Europe. Walter received his Six Sigma certifications from General Electric, and has since been applying and developing this methodology in innovative ways. After coming to El Paso over 20 years ago, Walter has set his sights on helping the Sun City grow by bringing green energy and aging retrofits to the forefront of home construction. Walter has consulted for companies such as General Motors, Siemens, and Phillips.
Hector Reyna
Architect
Hector is the principal architect of Chalé Architecture Studio and possesses a wealth of experience in Architectural design, project management, BIM, graphic presentations, landscape design, and sustainable strategies. Chalé Architecture Studio offers complete architectural services for El Paso, West Texas, and New Mexico. We are committed to ensuring that all our designs, whether new buildings or adaptive use, address the existing historical, cultural, and environmental context to provide optimal spaces for our clients and community.
Past work includes the design of custom homes, multi-family/housing, hospitality, higher education, commercial, historic rehabilitation, municipal, and landscape design.
Marcelo Peña
Aging in place specialist
Marcelo Peña, an Army Veteran, has achieved noteworthy academic accomplishments, including a Master’s in Occupational Therapy. He's currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Construction Management and completing his internship with DAWCO home builders. Marcelo is focused on becoming a Certified Aging in Place Specialist, emphasizing the importance of aging in place. Committed to creating homes that blend safety, functionality, and accessibility, he aims to enhance the quality of life within the El Paso and Las Cruces community.

Arturo, one of the original cofounders of Dawco has over 20 years of experience working in real estate within the El Paso/Las Cruces area, as well as conducting business in Odessa, Midland and San Antonio. He has worked consistently in residential, commercial, new construction, foreclosures and HUD properties under Miner Real Estate, as well as owning and operating Permian Credit Repair Advisors. He was recognized from the Texas Senate as one of the Top 20 Realtors in El Paso TX; a Multi-Million Dollar Producer; and was a key member of a 10 million dollar grant (Neighbor Stabilization Program) from Washington DC HUD Housing Department to rehabilitate and sell foreclosure properties in 2010. He is always looking for new ways to innovate and create opportunities to serve the needs of the residential and commercial market.

Zaira was drawn to Dawco for its commitment to “health housing” through business innovations. A recent graduate with high distinction and honors in English Literature, Zaira brings to the table a zeal for research, data analysis, and content creation. Prior to Dawco, she served on various policy-driven public health organizations like GlobeMed and the University of Rochester Student Health Association Committee where she successfully managed several projects, committees, and budgets. She has also served as a Congressional staffer, and a political researcher in both Texas and New York.
